Mrs. Janice Susan Byers, a beloved community member of the Center community, and resident of Little Rock, Arkansas. Sister Janice Byers was 75 years young and was born December 2, 1948 in Cleveland, Arkansas to her parents George Freeman Byers and Zella Mae Byers. She passed away on March 30, 2024. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and received her christian education at Moore's Chapel AME Zion Church.

Sister Byers attended preschool at Center School in Cleveland, AR, and attended middle school while living in California. She later returned to Arkansas and graduated from Horace Mann High School in Little Rock, AR. She enjoyed taking care of her plants, sewing, and she loved playing BINGO!!!

Sister Byers began working for the State of Arkansas Medical Examiner's Office in March 2001 and later retired June 2016. August of 2023, she received her honorary membership with the Center Community Foundation and she was a big supporter of most all center community events. She became known as "a pillar in the community" while living in Los Angeles California as she was known for helping underprivileged children. She would often spend time with them, talk with them, and provide meals. Most of all, Sister Janice Byers was a strong woman of Faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be missed by all.
