It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sister Lucille Crawford, a beloved member of the Cleveland, Arkansas community and an honorary member of the Center Community Foundation (CCF). Sister Lucille was born and raised in Cleveland, Arkansas, where she was an active member of the Mt Zion AME Zion church. Although she later relocated to Morrilton and became affiliated with another church, she continued to engage with various church services throughout her life.
Sister Lucille Crawford's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she successfully managed her own retail wholesale business for over 30 years. She was not only a skilled businesswoman but also a talented gospel singer, known for her contributions to the quartet group, the Wings of Harmony, which she formed with her sisters.
Preceded in death by her son Charles Wayne Canady, Sister Lucille leaves behind a legacy of resilience, faith, and community involvement. Her dedication to her faith and her community made her a cherished honorary member of the CCF.
Born on June 14th, 1940, Sister Lucille Crawford's light transitioned peacefully on February 9th, 2024. We honor her memory and the impact she made on those around her.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Lucille Crawford will be held on Saturday, February 17th, at 11 am at Harris Funeral Home. A family hour will precede the service on Friday, February 16th, from 6-8 pm at the same location.
May Sister Lucille Crawford rest in eternal peace.
